The historic Bryce Hospital in Alabama served as an insane asylum and treatment facility for more than 150 years. It has gained the reputation of being one of Alabama’s most haunted places, and now, Bryce is open to the public as the Bryce Hospital Museum in Tuscaloosa. The University of Alabama purchased Bryce Hospital from the Alabama Department of Mental Health in 2010 and the last of its patients moved to a new facility in 2014.
