Wild horse gather update: 226 horses gathered so far this week from the Warm Springs Herd in southeast Oregon. The Warm Springs Herd Management Area comprises about 475,000 acres of public land south of Hines, Oregon. That range area can sustain 96 to 178 horses, but the current population is over 800 horses. Approximately 650 excess wild horses will be removed from the range during this gather, which will utilize a helicopter. The gather began Oct. 2 and is expected to last up to 10 days, depen
