It’s feeding time for the sand tiger sharks! Like all sharks, they are carnivores and eat a diet of mainly fish and crustaceans. At the aquarium we feed our sand tiger sharks squid, capelin, and herring (shown in video). With a mouthful of sharp teeth and large size, sand tiger sharks may look ferocious but are relatively docile and aren’t considered aggressive to humans. They use their narrow, pointed teeth to bite and hold onto prey before swallowing it whole. | New York Aquarium
