The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service released an adult California condor into the wild back in September. This condor, #939, was hatched & reared at the L.A. Zoo in 2018 as part of the California Condor Recovery Program, led by USFWS. Condor #939 was only in the wild for a brief time before she was discovered sick and exhibiting symptoms of lead poisoning in early 2025 - an all too common threat for the California condor.
