A video filmed aboard the MV Hondius shows the ship’s captain announcing the first death on board. The footage was recorded on April 12, before officials confirmed the passenger had died from hantavirus, a rare disease that can spread between humans. The ship’s 149 passengers and crew members have been confined on board for several days due to the outbreak. The MV Hondius is currently heading to Tenerife and is expected to arrive on Saturday. Passenger evacuations are planned for early next week
