Maybe not a perfect comparison, but what makes half-life Alyx isn't just the levels, it's the gameplay and the moment-to-moment experience which absolutely does not translate into non-vr. it's just the very foundation of the game that is built up for VR, and it will never ever survive the vr-to-2d translation without becoming a different game.
What VR games are as good (or close to) as Half life Alyx?
The only games that comes close to Alyx are.. Lone Echo 1 and 2 And if you can be bothered with the process of modding, then Skyrim VR and Fallout 4 VR are also up there, vanilla they both lazy ports with awful controls, modded they sit alongside Alyx and the two Lone Echo games as being the best VR single player games there is.

The quest is just decoding a video being sent over the network. Alyx doesn’t require a really expensive computer though. A mid range gaming PC will handle it fine.
