Posted January 31, 2019. Patty - My mom was on Keytruda for a year. The rash got pretty bad and would keep her up at night. As Johnny said, talk to your docs first, but my mom's doc suggested Benedryl at night to help with the itch and to sleep. My mom switched from a loofah to a sponge and only used Aveeno body wash.

Posted August 27, 2019. Hi SPS, My mom was on Keytruda for over 1 year. Her rash did not begin until about fusion #3 and itched horribly. Everyone is different, but rash is one of the most common side effects of immunotherapy. For some, it eventually goes away, for others, it stays the entire time on immunotherapy.

Posted January 30, 2019. Have been on Keytruda for 7 months for Stage IV lung cancer . Keytruda is working great for the cancer but I have intense itching with rash on back and arms. Have tried many different things and nothing seems to work. If anyone has any suggestions it would be greatly appreciated.

Aug 14, 2018 · Keytruda side effects: severe itchy skin - it drives her crazy especially at night. She currently takes Benedryl at night if itching is out of control and she has also found an Aveeno excema cream that relieves itching for a bit. Although the itching is bothersome for her, she would rather deal with it than cancer.

Feb 8, 2022 · It’s been 6 months since I posted last. Would like to give a little update. I was diagnosed with stage IV NSCLC more than a year ago. Given 4 cycles of triplets starting in May. After that Carbo was dropped and I was continued with Keytruda and Alimta. Till I developed a skin rash and my ca19-9 kept on rising .

Side effects to date; thyroid issues, high & low on meds, rash, itching , dermagraphica, chemo stomach issues on off. Fatigue on off. Maintenance x3 weeks. Femur tumor gone. Brain tumor gone. Lung tumor shrunk 75%. Staying positive.

Dec 30, 2019 · Keytruda by itself doesn't cause nausea. The side effects from Keytruda were more inflammatory symptoms, such as body aches, joints pain, slight sore throat, cough sometimes bloating and low energy. It varied each time. Taking Advil regularly helped. The symptoms were worst the first week after the infusion.

Feb 11, 2021 · Skin rash, itchy, red, angry eczema. What I do: scratch, scratch scratch. Dermatologist said take 40 mg OTC Antihistamine. OTC creams, ice to numb it, menthol gels. Hypothyroidism: Can’t metabolize food correctly. Weight gain 25 lbs, ugh. What I do: Take levothyroxine to control.
