Jul 24, 2012 · The combat for American Nightmare is better than the initial Alan Wake game, surprisingly. I beat AWAN in about 4 hours but it took me another 2 hours to get all the pages. I have also put about 10 hours in the Fight 'Till Dawn mode. Campaign around 3-4 Hours, beating all the challenges could take a while tho.

American Nightmare was a weird concept. Three original characters weren't Alan or Scratch or his wife, Alice. Those characters were completely static. The pages concept was different and handled badly. The pages weren't a story any more, but bits of an Alan Wake Lore Guide interspersed with "story" segments.

Jul 13, 2022 · Alan Wake's American Nightmare came out 2 years later and the game is a lot smoother. But something I think a lot of people would benefit from is knowing there is an Alan Wake novelization. It cuts a lot of the redundant fights while still hitting the plot points. All it misses is the music (I don't remember if it has a version of the rock battle)
