Darren Wayne Woods (born December 16, 1965) [1] is an American businessman who is the chief executive officer (CEO) and chairman of ExxonMobil since January 1, 2017. [2] Woods was born in Wichita, Kansas. Due to his father's work as a military supplier, he spent much of his youth living near various U.S. military bases around the world. [3] .

Mr. Woods brings 30 years of global industry experience managing highly sophisticated, safety-critical operations and has held a number of senior leadership roles in multiple international business units prior to being promoted to CEO.
