Johnston County Sheriff's Office says an 81-year-old man is charged with murder in the death of his 77-year-old wife.

Roger Gray Preston, 81, has been charged with the murder of his wife Sandra Cobbler Preston in Johnston County.

Around 4:30 p.m. on Monday, the Johnston County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call from a man stating he shot his wife at their home on Buffalo Road near Archer Lodge.
