Wind chill temperatures are as low as minus 50 degrees in the Upper Peninsula and snow is falling as far south as Florida.

Arctic air is going to move into Michigan early next week. The cold air will come with some wind, making dangerously cold wind chills. The Arctic air will be steadily infiltrating Michigan’s air Sunday and Monday with the coldest temperatures Tuesday and early Wednesday morning.

Single-digit temperatures and dangerous wind chills sweeping across the state have Michigan officials urging residents to take precautions to stay safe.

The Marquette NWS office said wind chills in some areas could reach 44 below zero early in the week and residents should prepare.

Dangerously cold air remains in Mid-Michigan today, and it will get even colder tonight. Cold Weather Advisories remain in effect across the region until noon on Wednesday. Wind chills will remain below zero for the majority of the day today,
