Health officials in New York City say a cluster of Legionnaires’ disease in Central Harlem has grown to 101 cases, including four deaths.

The last of 12 cooling towers that tested positive for the bacteria currently spawning a Legionnaires’ outbreak in Harlem is being remediated Friday, with officials hoping containment efforts will help prevent another death.

Another person has died from Legionnaires’ disease, according to the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene’s website. This brings the number of deaths up to four. The spread began in Central Harlem on July 25 with five reported cases of the disease.
