Kerr County workers affected by July 4 flooding can now apply for disaster unemployment assistance through the Texas Workforce Commission.

Over 100 people have died after heavy rain pounded Kerr County, Texas, early Friday, leading to "catastrophic" flooding, the sheriff said.

The declaration will make federal resources available to individuals seeking housing and home repairs and to governments and nonprofits doing emergency work.
