The dumbest “controversy” sprouted up on Wednesday, when Philadelphia Eagles fan and New York Knicks star Karl-Anthony Towns wore a shirt supporting the Birds while he was on the bench with an injury. Fans roasted the heck out of him. And in the second half of the Knicks’ eventual win, he changed his shirt.

Brunson, also known for his die-hard Eagles fandom, scored 38 points in the Knicks’ overtime win over the Sixers. During the game, he told ESPN he “absolutely” cosigned Towns wearing an Eagles sweater, and postgame was asked why Towns changed out of his Birds sweater.

Whereas most play with a chip on their shoulder, New York Knicks star Karl-Anthony Towns will operate with one in his thumb. Per Stefan Bondy and Peter Botte of the New York Post, tests on Towns' sprained right thumb that kept him out of Wednesday's game in Philadelphia also revealed a bone chip.
