Family, teammates and Kansas City youth sports organizations are honoring Maliyah Brown with fundraisers and a Dec. 14 celebration of life at St. Pius X High School.

McGill-Toolen 47, St. Paul’s 37: Junior Kam Wright tossed in 19 points to help the Yellow Jackets hold off St. Paul’s in the road win on Monday. McGill-Toolen led 23-8 at the half and was up by 20 in the third period before St. Paul’s rallied. St. Paul’s – Senior Bennett Buolo led the Saints with 16 points.

“The Grind Session is 30 teams in Owensboro over this 3 and a half days. The economic impact for this tournament alone estimated about $453,000 in our community. That’s real money and real jobs right here in Greater Owensboro,“ Claude Bacon, president and CEO of the Greater Owensboro Economic Development Corporation (GOEDC) said.
