Hong Kong's Education Bureau said that it had called on universities in the Chinese territory to attract top talent following a ban on Harvard University enrolling foreign students.
The latest criticism from the Trump administration of Harvard University highlighted the number of international students entering the United States each year for higher education.
Jeremy Faust, an assistant professor of emergency medicine, said he told a prospective graduate student to consider enrolling at a university abroad.

"We want to know who those foreign students are, a reasonable request since we give Harvard BILLIONS OF DOLLARS, but Harvard isn’t exactly forthcoming," he said. "We want those names and countries. Harvard has $52,000,000, use it, and stop asking for the Federal Government to continue GRANTING money to you!"
