Hundreds of Palestinians in Gaza have been killed by Israeli strikes in recent days. And aid distribution has been marred by violence, with hundreds killed on their way to try to obtain food from the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), the controversial US-backed aid initiative.

Trump said Israel has agreed to the conditions to finalize a 60-day ceasefire, "during which time we will work with all parties to end the War."

Hamas is currently in talks with other Palestinian groups to review a US-backed ceasefire proposal for Gaza and plans to share its official response with mediators after internal discussions conclude.
