People facing another hike in fuel bills because of the increased energy price cap have hit out against the latest cost-of-living blow.Ofgem is increasing the energy price cap by 6.4%, meaning a household using a typical amount of gas and electricity will see their annual bill rise by £111 a year to £1,

Households are bracing for yet another hike in their energy bills after Ofgem ’s decision to increase the price cap by 6.4 per cent. The price cap dictates the maximum rate per unit and standing charge for energy consumption. It will take effect from April 1.

Most households are on a variable rate tariff, which is subject to a price cap enforced by Ofgem. So when the price cap rises in April, so will their bills.
