Last Sunday, the NCS held one racing’s crown jewel events, as the series honored those who have sacrificed for the United States, along with holding an exciting race in the Coca-Cola 600. The hype lived up to the billing.

A little ways away from the Carolinas, racers like Darrell Waltrip, Sterling Marlin, Bobby Hamilton and more went from racing and winning at the Nashville Fairgrounds to NASCAR stardom, affirming Nashville's place as one of racing's great outposts and hotbeds in the southeast.
