Palisades fire shoots up to 17,200 acres — 1,000 structures destroyed
The wind-driven brush fire in Pacific Palisades and Malibu exploded on Wednesday, Jan. 8, and by late evening had charred more than 17,200 acres and destroyed approximately 1,000 structures, authorities said. The blaze grew from 2,921 acres reported around 12:30 a.m. Wednesday.
