You can now watch a broad selection of PBS programming on Amazon Prime for free even if you don’t have a subscription. Though much of PBS ’ programming is already available to stream through through its own apps, now you can access it through Amazon Prime Video.

For the record, Amazon first announced in September 2023 that ads would be coming to Prime Video. Even if you don’t upgrade your Prime Video plan, any movies or TV shows that you purchase or rent on Prime Video will be ad-free. Amazon added commercials to Prime Video for the same reason most of the other big streamers did: It wants more revenue.

PBS is coming to Amazon Prime Video. More than 150 local PBS stations and PBS Kids will become available in coming months.
