ATLANTA — It was the splash Braves Country had been anxiously awaiting for. On Thursday, the team announced the signing of free agent OF Jurickson Profar. Atlanta inked the former Padres’ star to a 3-yr, $42 mil deal. Profar is set to make $12 million this upcoming season and $15 million in 2026 and 2027.

The Braves also signed Bryan De La Cruz to a one-year deal on Dec. 16 to add outfield depth, but the team otherwise had a quiet offseason before the addition of Profar. A switch-hitter, he will join Michael Harris, Jarred Kelenic, Eli White and De La Cruz as Atlanta's top outfielders.

Acuna (knee) is expected to miss the first month or so of the season, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports. Everything appears to have gone swimmingly with Acuna's rehab from June 2024 surgery to repair a torn ACL in his left knee.
