Wind gusts of up to 75mph could cause disruption across Wales on New Year's Day. The Met Office has imposed a yellow weather warning for "very strong winds" on Wednesday, along with a separate alert for heavy rain. Up to 40mm (1.6in) is expected fairly widely, with up to 80mm (3.2in) across hills, the forecaster warned.
