If all goes to plan, two NASA missions called "SPHEREx" and "PUNCH" will be sharing a ride to space very soon.

Dr. Phil Korngut, NASA instrument scientist with SPHEREx, has more on the two separate missions that are on the same rocket and talks about what it means and what it will teach us.

Now scheduled for Sunday, NASA will launch two separate missions on the same rocket, SPHEREx and PUNCH. SPHEREx will help us better understand the origins of our universe, while PUNCH will teach us more about the star that’s closest to home.

NASA and SpaceX are gearing up for an exciting double launch, sending the SPHEREx and PUNCH missions into space. SPHEREx will peer into the universe’s origins, shedding light on the first moments after the Big Bang and searching for life’s fundamental building blocks.
