Long Island MS-13 leader Jairo Saenz has admitted to his role in seven brutal murders but will avoid both the death penalty and life in prison, authorities said.

Jairo Saenz, a MS-13 gang leader known as "Funny" has pleaded guilty to seven murders on Long Island, including the brutal killings of Brentwood High School students Nisa Mickens and Kayla Cuevas.

Jairo Saenz, 28, faces 40 to 60 years in prison when he’s sentenced on June 13. His older brother, Alexi, pleaded guilty in the same cases in July 2024.

Jairo Saenz, 28, entered the plea in federal court in Central Islip in a hearing attended by members of his family and some of the victims’ families.

Jairo Saenz drove MS-13 members to get a mask and another vehicle, both of which would be used when committing the murder. Alexi Saenz provided the clique's 9-millimeter handgun for use in the murder.
