Fireworks likely caused a baby red panda to become so stressed she choked on her vomit and died, experts from the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland said Thursday while pleading for tighter restrictions on the celebratory illuminations.

Edinburgh Zoo staff have slammed the widespread use of fireworks in the city after Guy Fawkes Night explosions literally scared their baby red panda to death. A public petition calling for tighter restrictions on the use of fireworks and signed by more than a million people was delivered to the UK Government last week.
