Coastal Carolina has reached the NCAA baseball tournament 21 times in program history. The first appearance of the Chanticleers came in the 1991 season. They did not make it back until 2001, but have made it 20 times in the last 25 seasons, including four years in a row.
Auburn held a 1-0 lead until the seventh inning when Coastal Carolina broke through for three runs. Sebastian Alexander hit a leadoff double and was moved to third on a sacrifice bunt by Blake Barthol. Walker Mitchell followed up with an RBI single to tie the score at 1-1.

Mercer County will be well represented at the College Baseball World Series in Omaha, Neb. Kevin Schnall and Coastal Carolina made sure of that.
No. 13 Coastal Carolina defeated No. 4 Auburn 4-1 on Saturday to win its super regional, securing its 23rd consecutive victory and becoming the NCAA tournament’s first team to secure its spot in the 2025 Men's College World Series.
