The Chicago area is once again looking at a storm evening with the potential for some severe weather Friday night. Unlike Thursday, however, the threat and expected severity are lower and mainly concentrated southeast of the city.

A multiday severe weather threat is continuing on Thursday, with tens of millions of people in cities like Chicago and Milwaukee bracing for storms that could produce strong tornadoes, large hail and damaging wind gusts.

Cities such as Chicago, Minneapolis and Milwaukee are at risk for a severe weather outbreak, forecasters said.
