A visit meant to reset the Ukrainian leader’s relationship with the U.S. president instead turned into a public debate over whether Russia’s Vladimir Putin could be trusted.

Before President Zelensky arrived at the White House, President Trump - who waited briefly outside before greeting his Ukrainian counterpart - was asked by a reporter if he felt it was going to be a good meeting. Trump gave no words in response, and flashed a thumbs-up instead.
