Peruvian authorities say that wildfires in Peru have left at least 15 dead and more than 3,000 hectares of cultivated land and natural areas scorched

Peruvian President Dina Boluarte on Wednesday declared a state of emergency in three regions affected by devastating forest fires that have burned through swathes of the nation's Andean and Amazonian crop lands and left 16 dead.

More than 1,800 people have been affected, including at least 15 who have died and 98 who have been injured, since July.
