Voters across England went to the polls yesterday on the biggest day for politics since last year’s general election. Among the contests were 23 local authorities, six mayoral races, and one seat in parliament.

Voters in some parts of England are electing councillors and mayors. These are the first local elections since the general election was held in July 2024.
