The man was pulled into the water and dragged away by the wind and currents near Malvarrosa Beach in Valencia on April 14. Officials said the Guardia Civil received an alert at around 11:20 am.

Although Valencia’s beaches are separated from the city center by miles of residential housing, Malvarrosa is the easiest to access. It should take around 30 minutes on public transport.
