Also a first, the half and full marathons featured elite runners who had to qualify. The first-place winners for the men’s and women’s full marathon belonged to a husband and wife who live in Ferndale. Andrew Bowman celebrating an amazing feat, but the win was not complete without his other half.

Devore-Bowman won the women's race in 2:42:46, just 25 minutes after her husband, Andrew Bowman. He won the men's race at 2:17:47.

The runner collapsed during the Canada stretch of the 26.2-mile race, which starts and finishes in downtown Detroit.
