Arizona State football coach Kenny Dillingham is getting a big raise following the Sun Devils’ unexpected trip to the College Football Playoff.

The 2025 CFP national championship game between the Fighting irish and Buckeyes will kick off on Monday, Jan. 20, set for a 7:30 p.m. EST. January 20th is the latest national title game in the sport's history, thanks to the expanded 12-team playoff extending the season by a few weeks.

Last season, UNC's Mack Brown was the oldest head coach in college football at age 73. The Tar Heels responded by replacing him with a (slightly) younger option: 72-year-old Bill Belichick, who also replaced Brown as the oldest coach.

BOTTOM LINE: Arizona State comes into the matchup with No. 11 Kansas State after losing three games in a row. The Wildcats have gone 12-0 in home games. Kansas State leads the Big 12 with 83.3 points and is shooting 50.6%.

Sarkisian recently led the Longhorns to their second consecutive appearance in the College Football Playoff semifinals.

Notre Dame’s athletic director said “I think there’s a chance” there will be tweaks to the way the College Football Playoff awards byes next year — an issue that will be discussed this weekend but that would need unanimous approval from the 10 conferences and the Fighting Irish.
