The Alabama House of Representatives on Thursday passed a bill requiring every county to audit the results of at least one race in at least one precinct after every general election. Rep. Joe Lovvorn, R-Auburn, said the intent is to identify any potential problems, such as malfunction of the ballot-counting machines.

A bill that would require post-election audits in one precinct per county got the greenlight from House Republicans Thursday.

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. ( WBRC) - Tuscaloosa City Councilman Norman Crow won Tuesday’s special election to fill the vacant House District 63 seat. Crow, a Republican, received 64.46% of the vote with 1,112 votes compared to 613 votes for Democrat Judith Taylor, according to unofficial election results from Tuscaloosa County.
