On Sunday at 5:34 p.m. a flood advisory was issued by the NWS Newport/Morehead City NC in effect until 7:30 p.m. for Martin and Pitt counties.
Experts said the NWS did a good job warning about the flooding, but questions remain about whether the cuts played a role.
A flash flood warning was in place for the western part of Kerr County, and a flood warning was in effect along the Guadalupe River in Hunt Monday.
Some governors and mayors are concerned over how current or potential cuts to agencies will impact how the government can respond in the future to major weather events.

The National Weather Service (NWS) for San Antonio warned that a "dangerous situation is occurring" in areas of southern Texas as heavy rain pours and even more is on the way. Affected areas include northern Uvalde, eastern Real, western Bandera, and southwest Kerr Counties, the NWS radar station said.
