The Andretti IndyCar team has released a statement after two of its cars were disqualified from the Indianapolis 500. IndyCar confirmed that the No. 27 and 28 of Andretti Global and the No. 90 of PREMA Racing had failed post-race technical inspections. As a result, they were disqualified and each car was slapped with a hefty $100,000 fine.
The Indy 500 took place on May 26, and the race was packed with high-octane excitement, as well as some participants getting in a bit of trouble. Not every competitor got off scot-free, and now, the folks in charge at the Indy 500 are handing out penalties.

That is the largest audience since 2008, when Scott Dixon’s win averaged 7.25 million on ABC. That was also the first year of a combined open-wheel series.
