LOUIS — At least 5 people have been killed and over 5,000 homes and buildings were damaged after after two confirmed tornadoes raced through the metropolitan St. Louis Friday afternoon, according to Mayor Cara Spencer.
Tornado damage in St. Louis under investigation
In a Saturday morning press conference, the National Weather Service (NWS) said radar showed a tornado touched down just east of Clayton and moved quickly across the Mississippi River toward Granite City.
