Huawei will unveil the Mate XTs on Sept 4. Chairman Richard Yu revealed the triple-foldable with stylus support in a video.

The Mate XTs is powered by Huawei’s self-developed Kirin 9020 chipset and runs on the company’s HarmonyOS ecosystem.

China's Huawei Technologies (HWT.UL) has moved the high-profile chief of its consumer business, Yu Chengdong, to a new role as chair of the unit, two people with knowledge of the matter said.

“Today we will once again rewrite the history of the industry, turn science fiction into reality, and lead a new era of folding devices,” said Richard Yu, Huawei executive director.

Yu said Friday that Huawei’s own AI framework, composed of its Ascend processors, was 1.1 times more effective in training large language models than mainstream international offerings.

Huawei Technologies is making strides in artificial intelligence and operating systems, with Harmony OS now available on over 900 million devices.
