Prepare your snacks, cozy up on the sofa, grab your fur babies, and tune in your TV—because the most adorable sporting event of the year is just around the corner! The Puppy Bowl, the original and longest running call-to-adoption television event, returns for the 21st year on Sunday, February 9.

Meet the 11 puppy players with special needs competing in Puppy Bowl XXI, which airs on Super Bowl Sunday, Feb. 9, on Animal Planet

Puppy Bowl XXI will air on Super Bowl Sunday and will feature dogs from the Connecticut Humane Society, DAWS and other Connecticut rescue organizations.

The Steel City will be well represented on the gridiron in February despite the Pittsburgh Steelers being out of the NFL playoffs. Centaur, a mixed breed from Animal Friends was one of the pups drafted from rescue groups nationwide to play in Puppy Bowl XXI.

Aurelia is a member of Team Fluff in the annual call-to-adoption event that will air on the afternoon of the Super Bowl, Sunday, Feb. 9.

Three pups from Paws Across Pittsburgh and one pup from Animal Friends were selected for the rosters of Puppy Bowl XXI. From Paws Across Pittsburgh, Sully and Mercury will be on Team Fluff, while Franco will wear the Team Ruff bandana. Centaur, from Animal Friends, will also represent Team Fluff.
