A moose was rescued by New York state officials after spending two hours in Lake Abanakee's icy waters last week.

But after a brief rest at the lake's edge, the moose—which had no antlers but was later deemed to have been a bull that had shed—got up and walked away without any further prodding.

Without a much-needed assist from New York ... The moose, later identified as a bull moose that lost its antlers, was in the water for about two hours before it was rescued.
