The Ice Age movies won't be going extinct ... the franchise's success didn't come as a big surprise. After all, the animated flicks contain all the elements young kids look for in their entertainment.

The movie is really funny and cool ... who was attached to all five previous mainline films and the various Ice Age shorts, would remain involved for the latest installment.
