Hurricane Fausto is expected to pass north of the Hawaiian Islands and weaken to a tropical storm by Tuesday, July 28, bringing potential flooding and high surf to the area.

Tropical Storm Fausto and Hurricane Genevieve are weakening, but they will send dangerous surf conditions to parts of the West Coast and Hawaii.

Fausto remained a Category 1 hurricane this morning as it approaches Hawaiian waters, but forecasters say it will start weakening today on a track just north of the islands Tuesday and Wednesday.
