Frontier Nursing University donated its former campus to Leslie County. The service trained nurse-midwives at the campus in Appalachia for decades, but has moved to Central Kentucky.

Events included a gala in Lexington, where Frontier has its administrative offices, and tours of the campus in Hyden, which coincided with the town's annual Mary Breckinridge Festival.
