Fortnite may just be a game now, but with the introduction of Fortnite Party Royale, we're one step closer to the Fortnite metaverse becoming a reality.

Leaks indicate that an island is being added to Fortnite that will allow players to hang out and play non-violent minigames together in a Party Royale mode.

Party Royale is unlike anything we've seen in the entire genre, let alone Fortnite. In it, players can gather in a low-stress environment and simply hang out.

Fortnite's new live music set on the Party Royale island was another important Metaverse moment.
