The newer Dune movies have made the novel series into a box office hit, but the Syfy miniseries from the 2000s may be the best adaptations yet.

Dune 3 – currently officially titled Dune: Part Three and not Dune Messiah – has finally started filming ahead of a December 2026 release in cinemas, wrapping up Denis Villeneuve's trilogy.

Following the success of Dune: Part Two at the box office, it has now been confirmed that Dune: Messiah has been officially green-lit.

If Villeneuve is willing to make some crucial changes to Dune Messiah’s story, he could bring a handful of new and returning faces to his sequel.
