The Fairhope Police Department hosted a self-defense class on Tuesday night for female college students who are headed away from home in the fall.

The self-defense training intends to empower and prepare women by teaching situational awareness and self-defense tactics in a safe environment.

All sessions will be held at Smiths Station Junior High School. The Rape Aggression Defense (R.A.D.) System is a women-only program that teaches realistic self-defense tactics and techniques.
