HENDERSON, Nev. — Five-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Amari Cooper retired Thursday, a little more than a week after signing a one-year contract to return to the Las Vegas Raiders. Raiders offensive coordinator Chip Kelly said Cooper called coach Pete Carroll on Thursday morning and gave him the news.

Amari Cooper won't be finishing his NFL career playing for the team that drafted him, after all. The 31-year-old wide receiver, who signed with the Las Vegas Raiders at the end of training camp, told the team that he no longer has the desire to play and will instead retire, according to multiple reports.

Shortly after signing a deal with the Raiders, Amari Cooper has decided to retire. He played with the Raiders, Bills, and Cowboys.
