ORONDO, Wash. - Orondo firefighters responded to a car crash on U.S.-97, which injured one person when a broken brake drum flew off a semi-truck and hit a car.

An Owen County woman sustained serious injuries Wednesday, and later died, after her vehicle was struck by a 21-pound brake drum that came off an unknown semi and went through her windshield.

A blue Honda Accord was struck by a brake drum from another vehicle. Luckily, the Honda’s driver was not hurt and was able to call 911 for help.
