A security researcher out of New Zealand found it was possible to use a screwdriver to reset the BIOS password for a Lenovo laptop.

Lenovo recently issues a security update to hundreds of laptop, desktop, and server models to address six BIOS vulnerabilities.

Of the different types of passwords you can set on the Lenovo ThinkPad, the supervisor password is the one that prevents unauthorized access to the BIOS Setup Utility.
